GLENN Murray has signed a new one-year extension at Crystal Palace, boss Alan Pardew has revealed.
The 31-year-old has been included in Pardew's squads of late after a loan spell at Reading.
After signing Shola Ameobi on a free transfer today, Pardew now has six forwards to choose from.
But Murray is firmly in his plans and the news will delight many Crystal Palace fans, who hold the striker in high regard.
There has been talk that Murray could leave this month, with the Royals ready to table a bid.
"We have a nice little combination there in Marouane Chamakh and Yaya Sanogo, but then we have Dwight Gayle banging on the door and also Glenn Murray, who has agreed another year's contract to stay, plus Fraizer Campbell.
"There is a lot of competition and they need to play well."
