ALAN Pardew admits he's "in the dark" over possibly signing Wilfried Zaha on a permanent deal from Manchester United.
There have been reports that the Red Devils are looking to offload a number of fringe players, with Zaha being one of them for a cut-price £3m deal with add-ons.
However, in terms of any other signings arriving following the captures of Jordon Mutch and Shola Ameobi, plus the imminent signing of left-back Pape Souare, Pardew says his business is done.
"That will be it," he said. "Deadline day is one of those days where you look across the board and there might be a player who is attractive to us or something.
"But I think for the first team squad, we have got a big squad now and one that can carry us forward.
"That deal (for Wilfried Zaha), if I'm honest, I'm not up to speed on - or whether it is a deal.
"I'm completely in the dark on the situation."
