SENEGAL international defender Pape Souare is flying into the United Kingdom with a view to completing a medical ahead of a move to Crystal Palace.
The Lille left-back has been tracked by Palace boss Alan Pardew for a number of weeks and has been playing in the African Cup of Nations tournament.
However, Senegal were knocked out on Tuesday night following defeat to Algeria.
Pardew says if all goes well, Souare will be announced in due course, possibly before Saturday's game with Everton.
"The process is pretty way down the line, the player isn't in the country as Senegal's game only finished 24 hours ago or so," said Pardew.
"He's travelling back and will come straight for a medical. If he passes it, he looks to be signing as well.
"I think it could be done today if we can get the hospital to scan him in time."
