MANSFIELD Town boss Paul Cox is hoping to sign Crystal Palace goalkeeper Lewis Price – if the two clubs can agree a deal on wages.
The Stags are in the market for a new number one after Alan Marriott left the club last week.
And Cox has debated signing Price again after he impressed during a loan spell last term in which he played five games.
But with the player's wages a problem, he admits he would need the Eagles to help the Stags financially.
"We have a number of targets and I hope something can be done sooner than later on a permanent or loan," said Cox.
"The amount we paid Palace for Lewis Price was minimalistic and sometimes you are embarrassed what we actually paid them.
"We have spoken to Palace and the lad and it's all been positive. But, with the situation we are in, realistically it would mean Crystal Palace wanting to help us out as we couldn't get anywhere near even half of his wages."
