JULIAN Speroni says it was an "easy choice" to pick Dundee as his testimonial opponents at the end of the season on May 26.
The custodian's first testimonial event of the year was a huge success on Tuesday evening at Fairfield Halls, conducting an exclusive Question and Answer session in the Ashcroft Theatre in front of 750 fans.
Dundee brought Speroni to the United Kingdom in 2001, and following a move to Selhurst Park in 2004, he certainly hasn't looked back, cementing his legendary status in Palace folklore.
"For me, it was always going to be Dundee," he said. "We had different ideas in the committee meetings but I always wanted Dundee.
"It makes sense because they were the ones who opened the door for me to come to Europe and start my career.
"I was a young kid with little experience and they gave me the chance and the opportunity.
"I can't thank them enough for that so when I had to choose who I wanted, it was an easy choice."
