CRYSTAL Palace are hoping to complete a deal for Liverpool defender Martin Kelly some time today.
The Advertiser understands that as of this morning, the deal didn't look like it was happening as anticipated.
However, it is believed the 24-year-old could now finalise terms with the Eagles later in the day.
If not, Palace will look to announce Kelly's signature on Friday.
The 24-year-old will create further competition in defence at Selhurst Park, while Palace have been on the lookout for a left-back following the releases of Jonathan Parr and Dean Moxey earlier this summer.
Palace are also pushing to seal a deal for Southampton midfielder Jack Cork in time for Saturday's opener at Arsenal.
