CRYSTAL Palace boss Tony Pulis joked that Glenn Murray did better in defence than up front against Richmond Kickers on Monday night. The Eagles surprised everyone by naming the striker in the heart of defence alongside Peter Ramage – but Murray has played there before in training when coming back from his long-term injury in February. But Pulis was delighted the 30-year-old grabbed another pre-season goal in their 3-0 win and it will certainly give him a boost for a full season in the Premier League. "I thought he did a better job at centre-half then he has at centre-forward!," Pulis told www.cpfc.co.uk. "He won't like me saying that but he still scored which is good. He's a good lad and I've got a lot of time for Glenn. "He had a bad injury last year and has had to sit out most of the season. Obviously at the backend he came back in and did smashing for the club, he looked fitter and stronger again. "He has got another goal (in pre-season), which is what we need. "It was a great header from the corner against Richmond Kickers, a good finish."
