AN 86-year-old woman had her Upper Norwood home burgled after popping out of her house for just 50 minutes last Saturday (June 14).
The victim left her home, in Spa Hill, between 10.15am and 11.05am and when she returned her house had been broken into through the front door.
Various items including cash, a DVD player and jewellery have been stolen from the property and police are appealing for information from anyone in the area that morning.
Detective Constable Asim Siddique, of Croydon CID, who is investigating the case, said: "I'd urge anyone who might have seen someone acting suspiciously to get in touch with us.
"Understandably, the victim is extremely upset and distressed about the ordeal. We are hopeful that somebody in the area might have seen something that could help us in our enquiries."
Anyone with information should contact Croydon CID via 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
