A MAN has pleaded guilty to a hit-and-run crash in East Croydon which left a pedestrian with serious injuries last week.
Jerone Lindo, 20, of Leafy Way, East Croydon, appeared at Croydon Magistrates' Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
A male pedestrian, 25, was left fighting for his life in hospital last Wednesday (June 18) after he was knocked down in Bisenden Road but is now said to be in a stable condition.
The Metropolitan Police said Lindo fled the scene following the incident, which took place at approximately 6.15pm.
A photograph taken by a man who lives near the scene of the accident showed paramedics attending to the injured man and a lamp post dislodged from the pavement outside an NHS dental practice.
The nearby resident said: "I heard a large screech and a loud bang from the back garden so I rode round the corner to see what had happened.
"The doctor from the medical centre nearby was looking after the man who had a large bump to his head and suspected leg bruising.
"The guys who live opposite have a serious surveillance camera set up and caught it all on CCTV."
Lindo's sentencing date at Croydon Crown Court is yet to be confirmed and he remains in custody.
