STEVE BROWETT says he is excited about the new Premier League season, after Crystal Palace were handed an opening day fixture at Arsenal.
The fixtures computer has given the Eagles a London derby on the opening day and a tough run-in, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool to play in three of their last four matches.
But Palace co-chairman says he is relishing the prospect of facing Arsenal in their opening game of the season, adding that it could be a good time to play them.
"You have to play all of these teams at some point, and it might be good to play them [Arsenal] first," he said.
"Coming off the back of a World Cup, they may have a few players who have short summer holidays and you don't know what form they will be in.
"At the start of the season, you do get a few surprises, like you did last season with Aston Villa winning at Arsenal and Cardiff beating Manchester City early on.
"These results can happen and hopefully we can go there and get a result."
