A WORLD food market will take over the new link between East Croydon station and Lansdowne Road tomorrow (Thursday). The World Food Festival is taking place on Platform, the landscape on Lansdowne Walk designed by muf architecture. It will feature street vendors serving cuisine from countries including Portugal, Germany, France, Italy, USA and China from 8am-6pm. There will be live entertainment at lunchtime from 12-2pm in the specially designed walkway linking the new East Croydon footbridge. It is part of a series events this summer including Putt Putt #2, a crazy golf course designed by Croydon-based art collective TURF. There will also be a screen from June 30 to July 6 to show coverage of the last week of Wimbledon. Jason Margrave, development director at Stanhope, which owns Platform, said: "We have created this space to be a constantly evolving landscape that will become a vibrant part of Croydon that showcases great local talent and entrepreneurism."
