A CRYSTAL Girl is hoping to be crowned Miss England at the competition's finals today. Neesha Robinson, 21, is up against a bevvie of 60 beauties at the contest in Torquay which ends tonight. She qualified for the competition with victory in the inaugural Miss Afro Beauty and could bring back the title to Selhurst Park for next season. The cheerleader, of Warlingham, has been competing over the weekend and modelled evening wear at last night's Mr World competition. She is up against her pom-pom-toting colleague Kim Fletcher who qualified as Miss Chichester. Neesha recently graduated as a media, dance and cultural studies student from Kingston University, Neesha is hoping her charity work could give her the edge. She was made a chairperson for the Royal National Children's Foundation (RNCF) in April and met Princess Anne at its annual conference. The dancer will be travelling to the USA immediately after the competition to teach dance to American children. But she said she would ultimately like to incorporate all her background in media, culture and sport to work in government and help people internationally. She has been fundraising for seven years for the RNCF – a charity helping young people who have suffered human tragedy or neglect in their lives. Over the weekend, the contestants have been undergoing a series of challenges including displaying their special talent. Perhaps predictably, the Brainy Beauty competition is currently being led by Miss Oxfordshire.
