Police are hunting two men who stabbed a teenager on a night bus in Thornton Heath shortly after midnight on Sunday.
The 17-year-old male victim had got on a N109 bus in London Road at 12.20am.
The bus was heading towards Croydon.
Police said that shortly after he boarded the bus two men confronted the teenager on the top deck of the bus.
They tried to steal his mobile phone, stabbing him in his leg and shoulder as he ran past them.
The injuries are not considered life threatening.
No arrests have been made and police inquiries are continuing.
Police are asking anyone who was on the bus at the time and has any information to contact Croydon CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
