TWO non-league footballers from Croydon charged as part of an investigation into match-fixing are set to appear in court.
Michael Boateng and Hakeem Adelakun, both 22 and from Croydon, have been charged with conspiracy to defraud bookmakers in Manchester between November 1 and 26, 2013.
They appeared at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday and were bailed to appear at Birmingham Crown Court today (Friday).
Boateng and Adelakun were playing for Brighton-based Conference South club Whitehawk when the allegations came to light but have both since been sacked.
Singaporean nationals Chann Sankaran and Krishna Ganeshan are also accused of being part of the conspiracy.
