DETECTIVES investigating the murder of Tia Sharp have charged a man with wasting police time.
Paul Meehan, 40 and of The Lindens in New Addington, will appear before Croydon magistrates on February 28.
Stuart Hazell, also of The Lindens, was charged with murdering 12-year-old Tia and remanded in custody.
The 37-year-old's trial is scheduled to begin at the Old Bailey on May 6.
A 46-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder was released without charge on December 4.
