CRYSTAL Palace have signed Stephen Dobbie from rivals Brighton & Hove Albion on an emergency loan tonight.
The Scottish striker, 30, now looks set to play for Ian Holloway again after playing under him at Blackpool. And he will be in line to partner Kevin Phillips and/or Glenn Murray up front.
He told www.cpfc.co.uk: "I know Ian really well and I'd heard there was a little bit of interest and when that became concrete there was no doubt in my mind to come and play for him. I've played for him twice at Blackpool and he gets players playing for him, and he's a great man and a motivator, and I just enjoyed working with him every day."
Meanwhile, George Boyd's move to Nottingham Forest is off after the player failed an eye test during his medical. The winger had held talks with Palace on Wednesday morning before going up to the City Ground afterwards.
Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony is furious with Forest officials and claimed live on television that another Championship club "near the top of the league wouldn't have a problem with his eye sight" and hinted they may take him on loan at the end of next week.
That club is believed to be Palace.
