A MAN has been seriously injured after falling through a ceiling of a disused factory in Waddon.
Ambulance crews were called to Stewart House, in Waddon Marsh Way, at 8.40am this morning (Thursday) after reports of a man falling from a height.
London Air Ambulance attended by road and treated a 56-year-old man, believed to be a construction worker, for head and chest injuries.
He was then taken to the major trauma unit at St George's Hospital in Tooting.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has been informed and police have cordoned off the factory until they arrive.
Stewart House had been home to plastics firm Stewart but has been empty since the company moved to Banbury, in Oxfordshire, at the end of last year.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to a fall from height at an address in Waddon Marsh Way.
"We sent a duty officer to the scene, a single responder in a car, an ambulance crew and the London Air Ambulance by car.
"Our staff treated a 56-year-old male for head and chest injuries and he was taken as a priority to St George's."
