U21 Development League
Palace 3-0 Millwall
NEW signing Keshi Anderson scored on his U21 debut for Palace on Tuesday, just 24 hours after putting pen to paper on a deal from non-league Barton Rovers.
The young Eagles comfortably beat south London neighbours Millwall 3-0 at Tooting and Mitcham's KNK Stadium.
And the likes of Adrian Mariappa, Brede Hangeland and Paddy McCarthy were all give run-outs from the start to form a strong backline alongside.
McCarthy was also on target as was striker Fisayo Adarabioyo.
Gary Issott's side took the lead early on when Sonny Black found Adrian Mariappa, whose ball into the box wasn't cleared properly and the it fell to Adarabioyo to power home.
Jamie Philpot thought he had equalised for the Lions after goalkeeper Chris Kettings had pushed away an effort from Ben Thompson but it was ruled out for offside.
Early on in the second half, Millwall went down to ten men when skipper Thompson was sent-off for a lunge on Black.
Palace doubled their lead around the hour-mark when Reise Allassani's corner was met at the near post by McCarthy to head past Tom King.
Jacob Berkley-Agyepong went close in twice in quick succession but King denied him, before putting the rebound for the second chance over from close range.
In the final stages and Palace grabbed a third when Mariappa combined with Allassani on the right and his delivery from volleyed in by Anderson to score his first for the Eagles.
Anderson had previously scored a quickfire hat-trick against Palace when on trial at Brentford recently, but now he seems to be the Eagles' gain.
