A TRANSFER deadline day tradition is to be dropped by Sky Sports, after a spate of incidents during their live broadcasts in the summer.
Reporters will no longer appear live from outside training grounds surrounded by fans, after viewers were subjected to bad language, inappropriate hand signals and, even in one case at Everton, the sight of a reporter being attacked with a sex toy live on air back in August.
At Crystal Palace's training ground in Beckenham, the Sky reporter was forced to abandon his position after a group of fans from the Holmesdale Fanatics staged a highly charged protest, about the channel's 'negative' influence on modern football.
Next Monday (February 2) the Sky reporters will either pre-record their deadline day segments or appear live from inside the training grounds - hopefully, away from rogue sex toys.
