SEVERAL residents were evacuated from their homes and one person has been taken to hospital after an apparent carbon monoxide leak at a block of flats in Thornton Heath.
Police, fire, and ambulance crews were all called at around 7pm tonight (Friday) with the "emergency planning team" deployed to treat the residents who were evacuated from their homes, in what was described initially as a "major incident".
Eighteen people who were evacuated were allowed to return to their homes after being treated at the scene though one resident was taken to hospital.
This evening, one of the paramedics called to the scene paid tribute to his colleagues at the scene,
