ON Wednesday there were rumours that former Everton and Manchester United assistant manager Steve Round could be on his way to Crystal Palace.
However, Neil Warnock has played down the link and believes David Moyes' former number two wants to manager in the Football League instead.
"I saw the rumours and I don't know where that's come from. There is no truth in it at all," he told the Advertiser.
"If somebody became available who I think could help us then yes, but there is nothing in it with Steve.
"I know him and he wants to be manager himself now. That's why he didn't go with David Moyes to Real Sociedad.
"I believe he wants to start lower down in the divisions."
