Bedford Ladies 1 - 2 Crystal Palace Ladies
After last week's setback, the Lady Eagles got back to winning ways with a 2-1 win against Bedford, but they made hard work of beating a very ordinary side.
Both goals came in the first half. Nycha Dyett, who was starting for the first time this season and got on the score sheet after just five minutes.
Sarah Jones won the ball in midfield before laying it off to Roschelle Shakes, who played a great through ball for Dyett to run on to, and although she beat the keeper to the ball her shot came back off the post.
The keeper then saved the rebound but Dyett then made no mistake with her third attempt.
The second goal came in the 20th-minute when Jones played the ball out to Mercedes Bromfield, who sent Jade Davenport away down the right.
She crossed first time for Rinsola Babajide to meet the ball at the far post and score with a deflection off the defender.
This seemed to be the cue for Palace to take their foot off the pedal and coast through the rest of the game, and not even a half-time rollicking from manager Dean Davenport could get them going.
A last-minute goal from Bedford resulted in a frantic ending than it should have been but Palace held out for another win.
