CRYSTAL Palace are understood to be close to securing the signing of Southampton midfielder Jack Cork.
The Carshalton-born man looked set for a move to Selhurst Park before the opening game against Arsenal nearly two weeks ago.
However, following Tony Pulis' departure, the move was put on hold.
It is understood a fee of around £3m was agreed between the Eagles and Saints.
Cork scored his first goal for Southampton on Tuesday night against Millwall.
With the transfer deadline approaching on Monday night next week, Palace are pushing to complete the deal following the announcement of Neil Warnock as the club's new manager.
