COULD the false widow be alive and well in Croydon?
This photo, posted on the New Addington Pathfinders Facebook page, looks uncannily like the creature which has hit the headlines in recent months for its frequent, yet scary, appearances up and down the UK.
In response to the initial post, Phillip Watson said: "False widow definitely but I would of put outside just because they won't bother you and help rid mossies and flies."
And Natasha Cook added: "That is defo a false widow. kill it if u can lol."
Alas, this falsie didn't meet a happy ending. Having been trapped in a cup, the spider later passed on to the great web in the sky.
