Crystal Palace are set to announce a new signing on Wednesday, believed to be Liverpool full-back Martin Kelly.
However, club co-chairman Steve Parish hinted that the Eagles are also in for a Premier League midfielder on Sky Sports News HQ, and according to a number of sources it is believed to be Stoke City's Steven Nzonzi.
Boss Tony Pulis signed the central midfielder for Stoke City from Blackburn Rovers in 2012 and has been linked with a move for the 25-year-old previously.
And in May, the player submitted a transfer request to leave the Potters, pointing out his desire to be sold this summer.
Nzonzi arrived in England with Blackburn in 2009 from French Ligue 2 side Amiens SC, but he is not known for his goalcoring exploits.
Indeed, he would fill the void left by Kagisho Dikgacoi, while other defensive midfielder Stuart O'Keefe was left out of the club's pre-season game against Augsburg last weekend.
The rumour mill went into overdrive on Tuesday, with reports suggesting Manchester United's Wilfried Zaha could be on his way back to Palace.
But it seems that a deal will only go ahead if Pulis wants the winger before discussing the deal with Parish.
Another midfielder linked with the Eagles this summer has been Swansea City playmaker Jonjo Shelvey.
