CRYSTAL Palace Development Squad member Michael Chambers says he and his team-mates are "proud" of Jake Gray for scoring twice for the first team on their pre-season tour. Gray was one of three Development players taken away to Austria and the United States, and Gray wasted no time in trying to impress with one goal against GAK Graz and one against Columbus Crew. And centre-back Chambers says it has given the younger players the belief that they can push on under Tony Pulis, whether it's with the first team squad or out on loan. "We were all so proud and happy for Jake to score, especially on tour with the first team in America," Chambers told the Advertiser. "He's a very good player. He is a quiet lad but a very good trainer. When he gets on the pitch he'd a very different character altogether, he can be physical and puts himself about. "The chances are there for us. It's good and gives us a buzz – it shows we can push on. "Hopefully a few more of us can push on soon and be involved in the first team." Catch Chambers in action with the Development Squad tonight (Tuesday) at Dulwich Hamlet, where a full house is expected.
