You may be forgiven for think last night's stormy conditions might have cleared the air and seen a slight drop in temperatures.
However, today is expected to be the hottest day of the year, with the Met Office predicting that temperatures in Croydon will touch 30 degrees.
More thunder and lightning, and possible hail, are expected overnight, and temperatures are not expected to drop below 20 degrees, ensuring an uncomfortable night's sleep for Croydon residents.
Heavy showers are predicted over the weekend, and despite a slight drop in temperatures (to around 25 degrees, according to the Met Office), it will still feel very warm in the borough.
