SURREY duo Jason Roy and Zafar Ansari are up for the County Championship breakthrough player award, which was won in 2013 by team-mate Rory Burns.
Roy and Ansari are on a list of ten rising young stars nominated for the award, which will soon be reduced to a shortlist of five before being put to a public vote.
A panel of five judges including former England captain Mike Gatting and ECB performance director David Parsons will then select five players to form the shortlist, before voting is opened in August.
The ten nominated for the award, which was won by Joe Root in 2012, are:
Zafar Ansari (Surrey)
Alex Lees (Yorkshire)
Craig Overton (Somerset)
Sam Hain (Warwickshire)
Ben Cox (Worcestershire)
Adam Riley (Kent)
Jason Roy (Surrey)
Reece Topley (Essex)
Lewis Gregory (Somerset)
Will Tavaré (Gloucestershire)
