A MAN was taken to hospital as a priority after his Land Rover crashed into railings and overturned in Coulsdon last night (Tuesday). Fire crews were called to Stoats Nest Road at about 11.45pm to reports of a vehicle crashing through street furniture. When crews from Croydon, Wallington and Purley fire stations arrived, they found the vehicle on its side, with the male passenger, reported to be in his 50s, still in his seat. There were no other vehicles involved. He was taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting by London Ambulance Service as a priority with arm and leg injuries. Purley fire station's watch manager John Thompson said it was a complicated job because they had to cut the top of the car off. Firefighters were at the scene for approximately an hour and a half.
