A MINI-CAB driver was attacked by two passengers and his vehicle found burned out.
The 53-year-old was assaulted by two men he had picked up in Brighton Road shortly after 1.20am on Sunday, police said.
He managed to escape when the men started assaulting him as the car reached Tollers Lane, and ran to Coulsdon Road where he flagged down a police car.
His mini-cab was traced to Fox car park at Happy Valley, where it was burned out.
The Advertiser understands the driver worked for District Cars in Brighton Road, Coulsdon.
Police are investigating. No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue.
