FORMER Crystal Palace captain Tony Popovic could make a return to the Championship this summer after two years in Australia.
Norwich City are said to be interested in the 40-year-old, who featured 123 times for Palace between 2001 and 2006 and made 58 appearances for his home country Australia.
His last spell in England was at Selhurst Park under Dougie Freedman, where the Scottish-born manager appointed him as the first team coach. He left the club in May 2012 to manage his current A-League club Western Sydney Wanders.
Popovic has had a large amount of success since taking over the Sydney side, leading them to the A-league title in 2012/13 alongside the Premier's Plate before this season securing second place in the top-flight of Australian football.
On Wednesday night he managed his side into the AFC Champions League quarter-finals.
A number of managers have been linked with the vacant position at the club including the likes of Neil Lennon, Malky Mackay and Tim Sherwood. The recently relegated Premier League side are looking to return at the first time of asking.
