A DRIVER was taken to hospital this morning after a car crash in Coulsdon.
The man was driving a Ford Focus when it collided with a Vauxhall Zafira on Woodplace Lane this morning (Tuesday).
Firefighters from Croydon and Purley had to cut both doors and the roof from the Ford to release the driver, who had neck and back injuries, a London Fire Brigade (LFB) spokesman said.
London Ambulance Service (LAS) said they were called at 5.25am today and sent one ambulance to treat a man with neck and back injuries at the scene.
He was then put onto a stretcher in a neck brace and taken to Croydon University Hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life-changing.
The driver of the Vauxhall Zafira was able to escape the wreckage without the assistance of firefighters.
The Metropolitan Police were also in attendance.
