A PERVERT who told a magistrate he could not attend his sentencing because he was on holiday in Turkey is actually at home in Thornton Heath. Former council hopeful David Christison was due to be sentenced this morning (Thursday) for secretly filming men urinating in a shopping centre toilet. Instead he wrote a letter to Croydon Magistrates' Court to say he was unable to attend because he was in Turkey. The 44-year-old even posted pictures of the Turkish holiday destination of Alanya on his Facebook page in the days leading up to his court date. The excuse angered magistrate Ian McNeil who issued a warrant for Christison's arrest. After the hearing, however, a source told the Advertiser that the 'fugitive' was actually at home in his flat in Launceston Court, Dunheved Road South, in Thornton Heath. When a reporter and photographer visited his home at around 4.30pm today, Christison answered the door before quickly slamming it shut when he realised he had been rumbled. We called the police and informed them of his whereabouts only to be told the paperwork for the warrant had yet to be completed so no officers could attend. It is the third time Christison has avoided being sentenced after pleading guilty to secretly filming men urinating in Centrale for sexual gratification on 30 separate occasions between April 2011 and April 2013. On March 20 the hearing was adjourned after he was said to have had a heart attack. It was later put back again on April 3. Christison, who stood for the Labour Party in Waddon ward in 2010, posted what appeared to be holiday snaps from Turkey on Facebook yesterday. The photographs include a view of Alanya's harbour and fountains on the beachfront. But a neighbour told the Advertiser his windows had been open for the last few days and he had been seen walking around his flat.
