CRYSTAL Palace have announced the signing of Spanish U20 star Jose Campaña on a four-year deal, subject to FA and Premier League clearance. On Wednesday night, co-chairman Steve Parish confirmed the news to the Croydon Advertiser sports desk as the club waited for final papers to be completed. "He's just waiting for the FA to clear the contract, it's all signed," he said. "He has passed the medical I think but it all just needs signing off. "It's probably taken a month - our people have been looking at him." And Parish says the club have been helping the youngster to settle in and admitted the deal was a "decent transaction" with Sevilla. "We've been settling Jose in the last couple of days and we've got an interpreter because his English isn't the best," he told the Advertiser. "We've had a liaison person working with him to show him around and get him settled in as soon as possible. "We then worked very well with his agents, who were fantastic and made it clear the player wanted to come to Palace – all round it was a decent transaction." Meanwhile, Campaña told the club's website www.cpfc.co.uk: "I'm delighted to become a Crystal Palace player. Over the last two years, I've had some problems with my hometown club, but I'm really excited to play in the Premier League. "I think it's a good step for me and I'm really excited and looking forward to meet all the boys and start as quickly as possible. "I got the first interest through my agent, who said that Crystal Palace were interested and straight away I said 'yes' because for me it was a dream to play in England, especially in the Premier League. "I hope to help the team stay in the league and then move forward." Eagles boss Ian Holloway was thrilled with his latest capture too, stating: "I'm absolutely delighted. "Everybody knows the way I want to try and play football and how fantastic Spain have been over the past few years, so I'm delighted to get a lad of this quality. "I think he's a fantastic player, his maturity is unbelievable, and the way he plays the game is the way I believe it should be played. "He's going to be a great star of the future and the present."
