STUART Hazell will find out how many years he will spend in prison for murdering Tia Sharp when his sentencing resumes later this morning.
The 37-year-old changed his plea yesterday and admitting killing the 12-year-old and then hiding her body in the loft of his house in The Lindens, New Addington, last August.
Barristers for prosecution and defence then made submissions to the judge over the length of sentence he should be given.
Prosecutor Andrew Edis QC argued the murder had been sexually motivated and warranted more than a minimum 30 year tariff.
Lord Carlile QC, defending, said Hazell had not set out to kill Tia and that a whole life term was not appropriate.
Follow live updates on the sentencing from reporters Gareth Davies and Rachel Millard.
The court resumes at 10.30am.
